A big bamboo chopping board for anyone fed up with onions rolling off the edge.
It's 45 x 30 cm, 2 cm thick, and has a juice groove that catches the drips when you carve. Your worktop sends its thanks.

Why you'll like it
- 🧅 Room to make a mess - 45 x 30 cm of solid bamboo. Carve the roast and prep the veg on the same board. No more chopping and changing.
- 🥩 Two boards in one - a deep juice groove runs right round one side for carving. Flip it over and the flat side does bread, pastry and pizza. A bit two-faced, but in a good way.
- 🎋 Tough as old boots - bamboo is harder than most timber, so it shows far fewer knife marks than a softwood board. A cut above.
- 🪵 Stays put - 1.6 kg, so it sits flat instead of skating round the worktop. It never gets board and wanders off.
- 🔪 Kind to knives - far gentler on an edge than glass, marble or slate. Your knives are fully on board.
- 🌱 Kinder to the planet - bamboo grows back in months, not decades. Technically it's a grass. Don't tell the lawnmower.

From chopping board to serving board
It goes straight from the worktop to the table.
Charcuterie, bread, antipasti, a grazing platter, or a cheese board that means business.
Can't be bothered to cook? It makes a takeaway look fancy. We won't tell.
A popular present for anyone who cooks (or claims to).

Looking after your bamboo cutting board
Bamboo is less porous than hardwood, so it doesn't soak up juices or smells. Yesterday's garlic stays in yesterday.
Warm soapy water, a rinse, done.
Oil it with food-safe mineral oil before the first use, then once a month - both sides.
Never the dishwasher, never a soak, and always dry it on its edge. That's what stops a wooden board warping.

Questions people ask
Can I use both sides?
Yes. Groove side for carving, flat side for bread, pastry and pizza. Two boards, one cupboard space.
How often should I oil it?
Before the first use, then once a month. A thin coat of food-safe mineral oil on both sides.
Will it show knife marks?
Far fewer than a softwood board. Bamboo is harder than most timber, so it shrugs off everyday chopping. Mostly onions. It's always onions.
Can I put it in the dishwasher?
No. The heat and the soak make any wooden board swell and split. It's a hand-wash relationship.
Is it big enough for a roast?
Yes - there's room to carve the joint with the veg alongside.
Now go and chop something. Mind your fingers - we only do the boards.
