This shawl takes its cue from a city pigeon: pale gray wings, charcoal bands and a little purple and teal at the neck. Layers of feather-shaped knit give the surface texture, while long yarn tassels trace the lower edge.

The gray palette makes the feather pattern easy to see. Charcoal wing bands break up the lighter knit, and the purple and teal patch adds color near the neckline. The tassels move with the fabric instead of forming a stiff hem.
